Courtyard by Marriott Yonkers Westchester County

It was quiet, clean, and there were no unpleasant smells. The rooms were nice, and the staff were friendly. Parking was plentiful, too. The beds were just average for comfort, and my small gripe is that the TVs feel tiny now. The channel selection is weak, like at other Marriott hotels.

I left my jacket in the room and called the hotel. Jackie, who is also the front desk manager, said they had found it and that I could pick it up. I was already an hour into my drive across the country, so she offered to mail it if I covered postage. I paid $33 for nonrefundable UPS shipping and expected the jacket to be sent. After at least 30 tries and no call back, I contacted the General Manager and left two messages explaining what happened. He never called back. I still haven’t received the jacket or heard from Jackie or the General Manager, and I’m out the $33. I believe Jackie kept the jacket. I stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott in Yonkers in early December 2025, thinking it was a Marriott. I learned this hotel isn’t owned by Marriott. A group bought the name from Marriott, and in my view it isn’t held to the brand’s standards. That group owns about 25 locations under different hotel names, but it is NOT A MARRIOTT. DO NOT STAY HERE. I found the experience unethical and the communication awful. Spare yourself the heartbreak and find somewhere more ethical. Hope this helps.

We booked this place through a corporate affiliate for convenience, paying almost $500 for one night and hoping to use the pool. It was closed, though we were told we could use another hotel’s pool. That was the least of our problems. One bed was unstable and shook when we sat on it. It felt like a board, as if a piece of wood had been put inside. We asked for blankets and fresh pillowcases for both beds, but got only one. We slept poorly and felt itchy. The sink stopper was also out of place. Breakfast wasn’t included, which we already knew, but the à la carte prices were very high. We didn’t complain during the stay because we were there for more serious matters and didn’t want to get more upset. At night, I saw a worker several times walking close to people’s cars and peeking inside. After we got home, a bolt under our car was loose. I don’t know what that was about. We paid a $100 incidental fee, which was more than I’d paid before but wasn’t a problem. Once it was returned, though, we got only $99.99 back. That’s annoying and ridiculous. I want back what we paid, down to the last penny. If they do this to enough people, those pennies add up. A thief is a thief.

The kitchen was closed, so the only food was stale pastries. Nobody warned us ahead of time, which meant we couldn’t make other plans, and even a cup of tea cost money. The room was okay, but the shower seemed questionable. The walls are really thin, and a loud person next door kept me awake all night. I’ve stayed at the Wyndham nearby and got free breakfast and tea. Very disappointed in this Marriott.
