Best Western Miner's Inn

My wife and I were driving back to Canada from Disneyland, and we were tired enough to stop and sleep before continuing home. Because of the late hour, at least four hotels turned us away. When we tried the Best Western in Yreka, the staff welcomed us and gladly found us a room. We were so grateful. This review is almost 20 years late, but I’ll definitely return when we take our kids to Disney.

For one night, the reasonable price and clean bathroom and facilities make this hotel a suitable stop. The breakfast, though, was pretty poor, and I couldn’t understand one female staff member’s attitude. She watched what we took while we ate, told a young child to take only one piece of bread when they tried to take two, and cleared our table before we were finished. It felt like she was quietly pushing us to leave. I read other reviews today that also mentioned her rude behavior, and I really don’t understand why she acts that way.

I slept really well here, thanks to a comfortable bed and a wall heater/AC unit with an auto setting that doesn’t keep running all night. The rooms are well appointed with gorgeous wooden furniture, and the shower soap dispensers are unusual and seem very strong. It’s a lovely old motel or hotel.

I stayed here three times last summer, for 15 days each visit. The rooms are nice and roomy. In one, the shower drained slowly, and another needed its carpet cleaned. Patrick and Angel were always available and ready to help. I was surprised by how hard they worked and how much effort they put into accommodating guests. When my TV stopped working, Patrick went above and beyond and brought me a different one.
