The worst part of our stay at Puertas al Cabo was the dirt and obvious lack of room maintenance. There were cobwebs on the walls, dead spiders and dust everywhere when we walked in, all things a broom and cloth could have fixed. The bathroom was tiny and dirty, which made the stay uncomfortable. Being a budget hotel in a remote place doesn't make that acceptable, and the hygiene and upkeep overshadowed the good points for us. There are some useful things about the place. It's only steps from the bus terminal, handy if you're arriving with big suitcases, and the beach is a five-minute walk away. They also provide beach chairs and umbrellas, a nice service given the local climate. The hotel has its own restaurant with affordable prices. Like many places around there, it has no electricity, so phone charging is only possible in the restaurant during the day. Breakfast is basic, just bread, jam and butter, with little variety. There's a mini-market a short walk away if you need anything else.

One thing to know if you visit on a weekend, usually Saturday into Sunday, is that there's a bar right next door. On a moonlit night they have a bonfire and live music, which is really nice, but it gets loud, so you won't get much peace and quiet. The rooms are small, with low ceilings and tiny windows, and they get very hot. Anyone who suffers from claustrophobia might have a hard time. The place itself is good and well located in Cabo Polonio, and there's hot water. Breakfast is very simple, though, and I think it could have more options.

You get a unique sunset from the inn's tables. It's a beautiful place that keeps the spirit of Cabo, with helpful staff and everything very clean. The restaurant serves good food, and the location is excellent, just steps from the bus terminal. Everything on the Cape is close by.

We only stayed one night, but it was an excellent base for experiencing Cabo Polonio. The location is unbeatable, and the service was excellent. You can charge your phone, and the rooms have LED lighting.
