A lovely afternoon treat after the beach or a swim. The waffles are fresh and delicious, with lots of toppings, and they’re served in a beautiful sunroom or on the terraces. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just dropping by for the afternoon, the friendly staff make you feel welcome.

I always enjoy having waffles here, then taking a walk through the gardens.

Inside a charming hotel in Punta del Este, you’ll find what might be the best waffle ever, with chocolate or dulce de leche.

The waffles are delicious, and the peaceful atmosphere is lovely. Service is very good too, so I haven’t had the long wait you get at other spots in Punta. There are plenty of choices, or you can create your own waffle. For Covid times especially, L’Auberge’s beautiful garden and outdoor seating were really handy, with spots in both sun and shade. It’s my favorite place in Punta del Este for waffles and tea.

That was the best waffle I’ve ever had!
