The location is excellent, and breakfast was tasty with a good variety. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the old building has a welcoming feel. But our room smelled musty. The mattress was wider than the bed, so it felt unsupported at the edge and I could nearly fall off. The shower stall was extremely small, and it was dirty, with little bits of ceiling falling down.

The bathroom was the one drawback. It was spotless, but quite small. The shower was good and the bed comfortable. The inn's colonial style and the town make for a lovely setting, and the friendly people at both the inn and around town made the stay even better. It's very picturesque and well maintained for such an old building.

The reception staff were consistently very friendly, and breakfast was quite good. The rooms were okay, but very small, making it hard for two people to move around. The bed was comfortable if all you need is somewhere to sleep. One room smelled musty, and in another we could hear everything from next door, with no privacy. The bathroom was the biggest problem: the shower had hardly any pressure, and the toilet took about 20 minutes to refill. That happened in two different room types. At night, the noise kept us awake, so we had to fill the toilet with a bottle. There were signs saying hot water was limited because the inn is in the old town and has no piped gas, but we'd stayed at other inns there without that issue. The location is very good, though everything in Colonia is close. For the same price, you could stay on the main avenue and walk to the old town in 10 minutes. We chose this place because of its good rating, but I don't think it offers good value. It's very expensive for what you get, and there are better options for the price. I don't recommend it, though it would be fine for a night or two if you decide to stay.
