Alma de La Pedrera - Villaggio & Spa

We came in the off season in late November, when it was inexpensive at about $100/day. For a couple of nights, we had most of the place to ourselves. The beach is a 7 minute walk away, though this isn't a beachfront place and there's not much of a beach view. The cottages sit in the woods with patios, and you can hear the ocean and birds. The steam room and a few spa accessories weren't working during our stay, but that wasn't a big deal. The spa is open from 4-8, which felt a bit short, though it was enough. Get a massage every day, it was probably the best I've ever had. This is a fairly small town, and things around here are a bit rugged but beautiful. The place isn't perfect, but if you're after a reasonably priced, cozy spa, it's probably your only option in the area. It gets the basics right: clean spaces, caring staff, and everything very functional. The separate cottages are wonderful, with full kitchens and fireplaces, and plenty of wood for a cozy dinner. Everything seemed fairly new and modern. There's a shared hot tub, sauna, pool, cold water drop, steam room, another pool, and massage room. Maria and Julio were great and helped with anything we needed, though you'll need Spanish or a translator. Thanks so much for being patient with us. Julio brought fresh lemonade to the spa, and Maria brought a light breakfast every morning.
