San Francisco De Las Sierras

The outdoor pool is nice, but after staying here for a third time in January 2026, I left with a very different impression from my first two visits years ago. Back then, I stayed in the stone cabins and loved the quiet, and had a really positive time. This time, the only room available was room 16, by the indoor pool. It smelled strongly of chlorine and was gloomy and dirty. The toilet seat was loose, and the bathroom sink leaked into the room. I didn't report it because I didn't want to be held responsible. The 30-liter water heater wasn't enough for two people to shower one after the other. There was even a half-finished beer can in the minibar, clearly not checked. The room was also described twice as the only one available. Maintenance is poor throughout, and the staff seemed unwilling to help. When I asked for a bar of soap for the pool, the girls rudely told me to use liquid soap from inside the shower. They brought extra towels, but reluctantly. The indoor pool was taken over for hours by noisy families and children, with shouting and laughter echoing until midnight and belongings left all over. It took away the peace and quiet that used to be the place's main appeal. On Sunday night, everyone leaves the establishment unattended until morning. There isn't even a security guard, and no way to ask for a bottle of water. Breakfast has also gone downhill. The orange juice was artificial and tasted awful, the coffee was lukewarm, and the sliced bread wasn't toasted. There wasn't even butter. Everything felt half-hearted, while the girls stayed inside chatting so guests wouldn't ask for anything. Apathy seemed to be the rule. There was usually nobody at reception either, so you had to wait for one of the girls to show up. They seemed busy with something more important than helping guests, though I don't know what. The place clearly needs a manager. You get a small discount for paying by bank transfer, but $85 a night is expensive for this quality. Such a waste of the place's potential. I wouldn't come back or recommend it, and the worst part is that nobody at the company seems to care, even though they should.

The pools were dirty, and our cabin had mice. The sheets were filthy, and some of the breakfast items were old. When we went to get coffee with milk, there was a fly in the milk. Reception showed no interest when we reported these problems. It's sad to see a place that could be beautiful so badly neglected, after it used to be lovely.

So peaceful, absolutely lovely, with a gorgeous view. The cabins have air conditioning, an electric heater, and a little wood stove! The staff get 10 out of 10. Breakfast is simple, but everything tastes good. If I come back, I know where I'll stay.

The place is in a spectacular location and has everything you might need. It’s absolutely beautiful, and the staff are really friendly. It does need some maintenance, though.
