Gema Luxury Suites

It’s the lowest-rated hotel around here for a reason. I travel for at least a month every year, and this was my worst experience in years. Calling it a four-star hotel feels like an outright scam. The other reviews explain the details.

The room was plain but the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. The bathroom had lots of black mold, so I didn’t want to risk switching on the AC. There was no toilet paper, and the old towels were hard to get replaced or supplemented. Staff were friendly enough, though not very attentive. I’d try somewhere else.

The location is great, but I won’t come back. While we were quarantining, we had no cash to buy food and the staff didn’t seem to care. Nobody explained clearly how the arrangements worked, and they treated us as if we were infected, even though travel required a negative COVID test. The room’s bathroom smelled like urine the whole time, and the kitchenette sink smelled awful too. The sheets looked stained and dirty, the bath towels had holes, and the toiletries were extremely cheap. There are plenty of other places nearby.

The rooms were really comfortable, and I enjoyed the hearty breakfast. Their chocolate brownies were especially good.
