Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo

A cancelled flight left a large group of impatient people needing help, and the staff handled the pressure with real skill and respect. They worked excellently under difficult circumstances. The hotel, rooms, and facilities were all great, super clean, neat, modern, and organized. The bed was just what I needed to recover from the chaos, and the food was extraordinary. I can't describe how magnificent the stay was. Don't hesitate to choose the Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo. It exceeded my expectations.

On the second floor there's a cozy restaurant with a nice view. The menu of the day is complete and reasonably priced. The portions are average in size, and the food is well prepared.

For our anniversary, I booked room 1602 on the 16th floor, and the city and sunrise views made it a lovely setting. The room was cozy, the pillows especially comfortable, and we rested well. Staff were kind and helpful from the start, even helping with the surprises I had planned for my wife. Everything was clean, well maintained, and inviting. Breakfast had lots of variety, and although we barely had time to use the pool, it looked inviting and well designed. The direct connection to Montevideo Shopping made it easy to get to shops, restaurants, the cinema, and even the theater. There are good restaurants nearby too. We particularly enjoyed dinner at Piso 40, literally next door. The Rambla and Puertito del Buceo are also walkable for a waterside stroll. A few things kept the stay from earning five stars. The air conditioning was quite noisy and may need maintenance. The balcony door didn't seal well, so strong wind noise and some cold air came in. The shower had weak pressure and flow, making it less pleasant and sometimes difficult to use. We noticed the same issue with the pool shower, which may mean there's a broader water pressure problem in the building. The pool area was pleasant, but several clumps of hair floating in the water affected the experience. Some breakfast items could be presented better: the chia pudding came in one large bowl and didn't look appealing, while individual glasses with fruit and granola might look nicer. The scrambled eggs also lacked flavor, a missed opportunity when eggs are such a central part of breakfast. We chose Hilton Garden Inn Montevideo based on its good reviews, and in many ways it lived up to them. We left with a very positive impression and would like to return for another romantic getaway. A few adjustments could make it even better. Thanks to the team for making our anniversary memorable. We'll be back!
