The staff were lovely, and pets are welcome. It’s a quaint hotel, with sea views from the rooms. I especially liked the lounge, which opens onto a large balcony with comfy armchairs, a nice spot to sit and watch the sunset.

I deleted my earlier review just so I could answer publicly. I’d said the place was awful and that important things had gone missing from my room. They replied by claiming I was posting from a fake account, which is simply not true. Their responses are completely unprofessional. It seems likely the owner herself is dealing with everything, though I can only wonder. The place is filthy, the staff are horrible, and I absolutely do not recommend it. Don’t waste your money here. It’s a disgrace. Just read their replies and you’ll see what I mean.

The service from everyone working there was top-notch, and the place was spotless. Breakfast had lots of tasty options, too. The views are unmatched. Such a beautiful spot, I’d definitely come back!

Mornings on the lawn bring lizards about the size of cats, and you can cook meat on the grill. It’s also a great spot to send up a drone and get a look around the whole city. Just know the Booking.com address is wrong, even though the listing with that same name is the place itself. For the best view, ask for one of the top-floor rooms, especially 1-2-3. The value is excellent, maybe the best in Uruguay. The rooms look like they’re from the '80s, but that was good enough then and still works for us. The door locks seem to be held in place by the Holy Spirit. A few drawbacks: people with kids or older guests may struggle without a car, and the uphill kilometer could be good daily exercise for overweight guests. You might run into a cockroach the size of a lighter, as you can anywhere else in Uruguay. And if you use dishes from the kitchen’s bottom drawers, wash them again first.
