Tio Tom All Inclusive Punta del Este

The beach here is one of the best I've seen, with incredibly soft sand. The hotel's also quite big, with comfortable, pleasant shared spaces. Lots of families with toddlers come, and the kids' club has wonderful teachers who keep them entertained. Meals are generous and complete, the food is delicious, and the menu changes every day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The room is colorful, though the main bed is pretty firm. We found the bathroom cramped, with just one for six people, and the water sometimes cuts in and out. Those are manageable drawbacks. And save room for dessert, it's a must.

The maintenance family's room was next to ours, and they were very noisy. The cook and our box smelled strongly of garlic, the floor was broken, and we weren't given fresh bedding. Our room key didn't work, and neither did the safe. The other room had extra length and they could eat indoors, while we were only allowed to have lunch outside. Come on, what did you do to our family? We didn't have a TV, and the bathroom was terrible.

This place is very old, with bad rooms and dampness. The lock was broken, there was no room service, and the restaurant had no food outside its usual lunch and dinner hours.

The service was awful and the price was high. The general manager came across as arrogant. A lot needs to change here.
