Grand Fergana Hotel

The breakfast buffet was fine, and when the weather allowed, you could eat outdoors facing the pool. Rooms were a reasonable size but very plain, and the hotel seemed to sit in the middle of a construction site. The lobby currency exchange machine wasn't working either. Our main issue was the reception staff's manner, which I think may have been partly down to their English. We had two small children and asked for our two rooms to be next to each other. The answer was a blunt 'No'. A kind woman in the lobby stepped in to translate our request to change one room. They eventually offered the change after confirming we were a couple who could share a large double bed. I also noticed a separate spread of food laid out for a 'VIP' who arrived for breakfast with a small entourage. He didn't have to get up and choose from the buffet.

The rooms were okay, though the restaurant didn't feel very cosy. Music in the garden by the pool could get loud.

The bathroom odor spread through the rooms, which were the stinkiest I've found in town. I looked at three before picking one that was more or less okay, since I was traveling with colleagues. Otherwise, I'd have gone elsewhere. I left feedback with the hotel, but doubt they ever read customer comments. I definitely won't stay here on my next visit.

There's a peaceful garden and a nice pool, and a hypermarket is close by. It's a new hotel in Fergana. The location is a little far from the center, but still okay.
