Chehran Hotel

The host was quick to answer messages and gave me all the information I needed for a great time in Samarkand. Even though my flight meant I arrived extremely early, they let me check in ahead of time so I could rest before going out. The room was spacious and had air conditioning, and the value for money was excellent. It's a charming, typical hotel in the middle of Samarkand's old town, close to sights like Gur Emir and Registan. I'd happily stay again if I return, and recommend it without hesitation. Mr. Zafar and Chehran were such warm, hospitable hosts. They went out of their way to help us explore the city, and having them around made the stay feel like home and helped make our trip memorable. The staff were polite, professional, attentive, and helpful. Check-in was smooth, road access was easy, and the bedrooms were clean and beautiful, with new furniture and pleasant decor. The place is affordable and in the heart of Smarkand, close to the main sights and within walking distance of Registan Square and Gur e Amir Mausoleum. We'd highly recommend this warm, lovely place to friends and other visitors. Many thanks to the owners for their hospitality.

We had to book a last-minute hotel at 3-4 times the price just to get out of this situation. It was a complete waste of time, money, and energy, and we've since reported the property to Booking.com. I don't understand how it's allowed to operate. Avoid it at all costs. When we arrived, the front door was locked and nobody was at reception. It was over 100 degrees, and we waited outside until someone passing by noticed us and eventually found a local who could let us in. Once inside, we were told the hotel had overbooked and had no room for us, despite our confirmed Booking.com reservation. They offered to send us to and pay for another hotel, but Google showed it as permanently closed. That made the situation feel not just unprofessional, but deeply uncomfortable and potentially unsafe. We spent more than two hours trying to communicate through Google Translate with a family member or staff member who clearly didn't know what was going on and didn't seem interested in helping. When I asked to speak with the owner or manager, I was told he lived in Moscow, was asleep even though it was 11am, and nobody could do anything without him. This place singlehandedly ruined our time in Uzbekistan. It absolutely should not be in business.

The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the amenities were top-notch. Every staff member made us feel welcome and valued, going above and beyond throughout our stay at Chehran. The service was impeccable from check-in to check-out. Highly recommend!
