Hotel Maroqanda

The service was excellent, and the alley location turned out to be so quiet that we slept really well. The hotel itself was very good, though the water pressure was weak.

The rooftop is spacious and gives you a lovely view over the city. Shops and the main square are nearby, and Registan is about a 10-minute walk away. Our room was big enough for two, though the bathroom felt a little cramped and had no curtain. The water pressure could be stronger. Staff were friendly and prompt, and breakfast was phenomenal. Good value for the price.

The room I was given was clean and comfortable, and they prepared breakfast for me even though I was the only guest. When I arrived, the reception lights were off, so I briefly wondered whether the hotel was operating. It was, and the gas smell was quite strong.

We were four people in two rooms for four nights, from August 29th to September 2nd. Sabina, who speaks Turkish, deserves a special thanks. The staff were friendly, attentive, and good at sorting out problems, and we were pleased with the stay overall. Breakfast was excellent, and the rooms were cleaned and restocked with water every day. Some rooms look onto a large enclosed interior corridor, but it didn’t bother us since we didn’t spend much time in the rooms. We’d recommend the hotel.
