Khan Samarkand Hotel

I spent a couple of nights here in October 2025. It’s a good hotel, right opposite Shakhe Zindon and very close to Registan. The staff are friendly and helpful. Max at reception speaks fluent English and is always happy to help people.

The hotel has good facilities and a nice breakfast, and the staff are professional and friendly. It’s right across from the Shoh-I-Zinda complex, with other well-known places like Bibikhanum Mausoleum and Registan Square within walking distance.

The view from the hotel was incredible, right across from the magnificent Shah i Zinda complex, and the location was perfect. Our room was clean and spacious. The staff were courteous and helpful, giving us a map of the sights and showing us where to buy a tourist SIM, which we really appreciated. They also arranged rail station transfers at a great price. Breakfast was good, and the pool area looked lovely, though we didn’t use it. We had a great stay here. A must book for Samarkand!

This is a good mid-market hotel, comfortable and good at what it does, though it isn’t fancy luxury. I stayed two nights and was very pleased with the helpful staff. Breakfast had different options each day and lots of lovely fresh local fruit. The filtered water in the hallways was much better for guests and the environment than little disposable bottles. Shah-i Zinda mausoleum, one of Samarkand’s main attractions, is right across the road. Restaurants and shops are less close, and the breakfast room is quite small and fills up with groups. Still, I was happy with the hotel.
