Fortuna Hotel

The room itself was spacious, clean, comfortable, and nice. The booking was for four days and three nights, made online three days ahead, but when I arrived at night to check in, the receptionist said I could only stay one night because they were full. He told me this only after taking payment. When I asked why it was just 300k som, he said they were fully booked and I had to leave the next day. Nobody had emailed or otherwise notified me. It threw off my travel plans, and I couldn't go into the city because I had to return to check out at noon.

The rooms at Fortuna Hotel Tashkent were comfortable, clean, and well equipped, and the staff were so helpful and friendly that they went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices. The location is right in the center of Tashkent, within walking distance of many attractions. I'd highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting.

The reception staff were very welcoming and eager to help with anything I needed. The building seems quite new, and the prices are more than reasonable. It's a 10 minute drive from Tashkent Airport, though the nearest subway station is about a 30 minute walk away. My single room would have been much more comfortable if the bathroom had a sink.

I arrived to check in and was told the hotel was "full," so they refused to let me stay. They tried to use the fact that I was a foreigner to get more money for the same room. The staff told me to cancel my Booking.com reservation and make a new booking on the spot at a higher price for what they called a "neighboring property," which they said had availability. I asked them to honor the original Booking.com price, but they refused and would only let me check in if I cancelled and paid more for a room at the other property. I turned down what felt like a scam, was denied check-in, and had to find somewhere else to stay. As a result, I was left alone on a dark street at 10 pm.
