Gallery B&B Hotel

I booked a four-bed room but was put in one with six beds. The toilets all smelled of urine, and the bedsheets were really old and worn. It felt like no cleaning was being done. Front desk service was good.

The bathroom stayed wet and felt like nobody was taking care of it. Sanitation was poor: the bed had hair on it, and the quilt was covered in little balls. I watched a guest check out, and the waiter only folded the quilt without changing its cover.

For this price, the hostel is a decent place to stay, and the kitchen was nice. The sitting area with the gallery was cool too. But the washrooms were dirty and smelly, and I couldn't find cleaning staff. The receptionist was a nice, helpful guy, though I was charged 65K som for tourist registration. I was told that the usual registration fee is no more than 10K som, so don't just take their word for it. When checking in anywhere, ask whether registration is included and get a receipt. We didn't have time to look for better options in Tashkent. If you can, search for a cleaner hostel.

I stayed four nights altogether, first for two nights and then again a few weeks later in the female room. Someone went through my things and stole my padlock. When I told reception, they didn't care. I also left my towel behind, and when I called two days later, no one had found it and they clearly weren't concerned. Their attitude was terrible. After that first call, they simply stopped answering me.
