Hotel Ramada Encore By Wyndham Tashkent

Our tour operator put us in this hotel after a last-minute airline schedule change. We arrived late in the evening and had to check out at 1am for our flight, so we only needed a four-hour rest. Other than that, I can't comment on the hotel's facilities because I didn't see or use them. The air conditioning was set much too cold for sleeping. I managed to raise the temperature, but there wasn't enough time for the room to warm up. I also couldn't figure out how to lower the fan speed, so there was too much breeze and noise. When we got up for a shower, there was only one towel and one toothbrush, despite the hotel knowing there would be two of us. We'd packed our toilet bag for the flight and had only kept a change of clothes. Other premier hotels on our Uzbekistan trip had supplied two toothbrushes, so we'd expected that here too. Breakfast was included in the rate, but of course wasn't available at 1am. They offered a breakfast pack to go, which we accepted. The yogurt and fruit were great, but the sandwiches were dry, made with old bread, and the pastries were beyond redemption. I'd gone to their 'Gourmet Restaurant' for a light snack after travelling all day. The local soup was tasty, but the chunks of meat were indigestible. Also, while there's a convenient lift near reception, it only serves half the rooms. The lift for our room was down a long corridor, through the fire stop door, and in the stairwell. As a result, the firestop doors were propped open.
