Playa Sirena Resort

The view and pool were the only nice parts. I saw all those Instagram photos, then arrived to find bedbugs in the mattresses. They moved me to another room, but I honestly just wanted to get out of there. Everything else gets zero. Find another place to stay!

The welcome was good, and the rooms were clean and tidy. Food came cold and was bland. As of when I wrote this, they didn't have a restaurant of their own. If they put you on the third floor or higher, I hope you've got stamina, since the elevator is out of service 99% of the time you need it.

Housekeeping and maintenance did a good job, so I slept well. They can set up boat trips to the island 🏝️, and they'll deliver food for a large group. The food itself wasn't very good, though.

The sea view and being close to it were real advantages, with at least three shops nearby and boats to the keys available very quickly. It's a decent option for a few family days if you're trying to save money. Still, cockroaches and daily power cuts were hard to overlook, sometimes the electricity went out twice in a day. The shower and sink water was salty, which I found unpleasant. Towels weren't changed, and the facilities were run down and covered in animal feces. There were no plants in the rooms, and the internet was mediocre at best, poor at times.
