Posada Guaripete

There’s no privacy in this posada at all. The windows in every room are literally open, so you hear everyone and they hear you too. The staff can be nasty. There’s no internet or TV, and if you need something between 3:00pm and 4:00pm, you may not find a single staff member around. This will continue. This was my bathroom.

Posada Guaripete made our Los Roques stay unforgettable. The all-meals plan includes breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and dinner, with generous portions and gourmet-style food. Every dish was a delight. Daily trips to the keys include umbrellas, chairs, and triple hydration, so you can enjoy your time without worrying about those details. Our room was spotless, the air conditioning worked well, and the bed was very comfortable, though the pillows were quite high. The staff were always friendly, attentive, and ready to help. There’s a generator, hot water, and Wi-Fi for comfort at any time. We recommend it 1000%, you won’t regret choosing it to experience Los Roques properly.

Two people in our group were denied entry because of an immigration problem, and we told the hotel right away. They refused to give us any refund. We couldn’t use the service we had paid for, and they wouldn’t offer a solution or let the companions who did travel enjoy the included meals and other parts of the stay. The hotel showed no empathy or professionalism. A complete disgrace, and I absolutely don’t recommend this place.

Gran Roque is very small, and the inn’s location is excellent. It’s a typical posada on the main island of Los Roques, which is almost the only inhabited one. Since it’s an inn rather than a hotel, the service feels more like a family setting, and the service itself is excellent. The cuisine surprised us with its quality, as did the staff’s kindness and care. Managers José and Tiziana were always helpful and went beyond what we expected. The price is fair for the location and the property. We had an excellent stay and will definitely return, hopefully soon.
