The bar behind the lobby, the one covered in "Santa Teresa," deserves credit. The team there was the best, and they could make a proper daiquiri. At the other bars, I was told a daiquiri couldn't be thick because the rum was hot and would melt the ice. Across several days, the service was poor too: waiters brought drinks, but only once did anyone ask what I wanted. Usually I had to go ask myself. They should pay more attention if they're serving drinks, or just make it self-service. The food was much the same every day, including breakfast, and the drinks didn't offer much variety either. Dunas, the bar behind the lobby, was the best. The room service was decent but inconsistent: my towels weren't changed the first time, the second time one was missing, and the third time everything was impeccable. Check-in came with no information or tour, so I had to work things out myself. Asking for directions got me vague gestures, with no clear directions or maps. They said there were four restaurants, but only two served food, the beach one had snacks only, and the fourth was closed. Restaurant hours and opening days weren't clear either. I was also drawn into an hour-long pitch for a $14,000 (yes, fourteen thousand US dollars) program. It was presented as a way to save money and make my trip cheaper, but the closer eventually said it was about connecting with people in my tax bracket. That was the last straw. I was extremely disappointed with the experience and wouldn't recommend it.

There are sports facilities all over the property, including padel, a baseball training machine, volleyball, and a gym. You also get a movie theater, a nice selection of pools, and two convenience stores for everyday needs. The drawbacks are that it's far from everything, so you'll need a car to leave. The food was average and didn't taste good, though this chain has better restaurants at its other properties. The ocean beach has big, dangerous waves for children.

I was disappointed by the spa's unprofessional service. Leadership also failed to support us during the Jan 3 airport shutdown, which happened because of the political consequences of current events.

There's potential here, and the location is nice, but the poor service really got in the way. Getting around is difficult for anyone with mobility issues because there are so many stairs and so much walking. My mother-in-law was put on an upper floor without an elevator, and when she asked to move because she literally couldn't get to her room, they refused. Our group was spread out around the resort too, and they wouldn't move us closer together. The hotel transport, “the waawaa,” also requires climbing aboard, making it hard to use with mobility issues. Staff often seemed frustrated and as if they didn't want to be there. When I asked for directions, I'd just get “it's over there” and a vague gesture. I tried to find out that day's activities, but was told to message the customer service number on whatsapp and got ignored. There was no published schedule for restaurant hours or which days they were open, so the start of the holiday was confusing. With limited access for people with low mobility and customer service like this, I wouldn't choose the resort again. If you don't speak Spanish, I'd recommend avoiding it, since you're likely to get even worse service.

Customer service was very bad, and there was no information at check-in. Sadly, I have to say I won't be back. After two days of talking with the head of HR, though, I got a nice complement in my hotel room and some help. It was good to see people committed to their work and passion, working to make Venezuela great again. Thanks, mis Yolanda.
