The sunrise views are what made this place GOLD. We could watch the sun come up just steps from our door, and there’s a lot of beach. Be careful, though, because there’s a big riptide area. We swam several times and snorkeled nearby too. A few hundred feet from our room, near the palm tree lying across the beach, swimming close to the coral wall led to an amazing spot with about 75-130 beautiful fish. This is a Blue flag beach because of turtle nests. We even saw a baby turtle released. The St.croix turtle rescue people are around sometimes, so it pays to be nosey and ask what’s going on. Otherwise we’d have missed seeing the baby turtle head out to sea for the first time. Star greeted us when we arrived, showed us around, and helped us find our room. We met the hotel kitty and named it Dice, short for Paradise lol. The rooms aren’t fancy and had a few holes in the tile, so I’d rate them 6/10. They need some fixing up, but we’re not picky and were just happy to be there. The manager was very nice, greeted us every morning, and did a great job even though she seemed stressed sometimes when things weren’t perfect. We’re earlyyy risers, but island time is real. Coffee is listed for 7:30 and breakfast for 8, though expect about 30 minutes later. Nobody’s rushing. The waitresses wait for you to say you’re done instead of asking, which helped us slow down and was kinda nice as long as we weren’t hangry. We started calling ourselves the Coffee Queens 👑. The food was good and the drinks were great. As we leave this beautiful island, I’d rate the hotel and restaurant 9/10. Mention the coffee queens if you visit, they’ll get a good laugh 💜

Star at the front desk and Laurice in housekeeping were especially great. Restaurant service was friendly but slow, which helped us slow down and relax. I think they were renovating and had a reduced staff. Hopefully they finish soon, since the rooms that haven’t been updated are pretty bad, while the new ones are lovely. We had a wonderful week at the Palms. Our room was comfortable, clean, and opened straight onto the beach. We enjoyed swimming both in the ocean and in the pool.

The view was amazing, and I could step from my patio straight onto the beach. My room was okay, neither bad nor great, and the staff were very friendly. Check-in and checkout were easy, the food was good, and I’d stay here again.

It’s quiet and tucked away, but still close to anything you might want to do. The beach and view are beautiful, a peaceful way to enjoy STX. It’s not fancy, but I keep coming back. The women at the front desk, especially the housekeepers, were a joy and made my solo stay feel safe and relaxing.

The food was all delicious: chicken with mushrooms and spinach, blackened salmon, plantain, stir fried vegs, and coleslaw slaw. Restaurant service can be slow, mostly because of the kitchen, but it’s worth waiting for. The room and ocean view were lovely, right on the water. There were a few hiccups with the room equipment, but the nice staff fixed them. They’re updating the place bit by bit, and it’s beautiful to stay at. If you eat late, check the kitchen hours first because they vary.
