The Westin St. Thomas Beach Resort & Spa

We enjoyed the stay overall, and the food was very good, the amenities solid, and the service incredible throughout. The room was the one disappointment. We paid extra for an ocean view, but the first room faced a turf-covered roof. They moved us to another ocean-view room with a much better view, though a patio was still in sight and the bathroom was a big negative. I’d stay again, especially if we got a better view of the ocean.

I ended up moving to The Westin unexpectedly during a stressful trip to St. Thomas, and there were some issues with my room. What made a real difference was how the staff responded. Everyone I met was kind, patient, professional, and ready to help. Management took my concerns seriously and worked quickly on them. Supervisor Ayanna walked through rooms with me, listened carefully, acknowledged the problems right away, and followed up with care. Guest services manager Brittany also went out of her way to help at checkout. The property is beautiful, the views are stunning, and the atmosphere feels safe, calm, and welcoming. During an overwhelming week, the team’s empathy and service meant a lot to me. Hospitality is about how people treat you when things go wrong, and this team came through.

The views from all over the hotel were so beautiful that the pictures can’t do them justice. My mother and I spent an amazing week there, though we still didn’t get to experience every amenity. Our room was on the seventh of eight floors, with ocean views over the cliffs. Waking up to that felt like waking up to paradise. The rooms were gorgeous, and staff worked hard to make each one as clean as possible. Every time we entered, it looked freshly opened. There were three lovely pools, including one for adults only. Our building sat right on the edge of a dramatic cliff, and we could use the beachfront building by taking a 30-second shuttle or walking a few hundred steps down. I would have spent more time in the ocean if it weren’t such a trek, but I was happy with the infinity pool, whose water matched the tropical sea, and the comfortable half-submerged loungers in the shallow end. I would have liked an all-inclusive option, but we made the best of it. There were always cabs waiting because the hotel was so busy, but they were very expensive, especially the 30-year-old vehicles with five or six rows of seats. Luggage added to the cost, charged by both bag and quantity, even though on the airport trip Westin bellboys loaded it and the driver only had to unload it. Prices were very high, though expected on vacation. The staff made my trip as pleasant as possible, and the head valet took extra care with my safety during my stay from 12/6/25 to 12/13/25. On the night of 12/7/25, when my mother and I got separated between hotel buildings, he did all he could to reunite us. I wish I remembered his name so I could review him on his own. The hotel was prepared for my disability, and I was never in a situation beyond my physical abilities. I’d have liked to be closer to town and shopping, but that was a very expensive taxi ride away. I felt like a queen and would absolutely recommend it. If they offered an all-inclusive option, I’d return immediately.

I love this place: friendly staff at every level, a warm welcome, hot food, cold drinks, sunshine, a beautiful setting, a great beach, and a comfortable room with a Westin bed. I visited in late October, had perfect weather, a lovely catamaran outing, three delicious dinners, and plenty of pool and beach time. The quality of the extensive renovation is clear everywhere. Individual guests and convention groups shared the resort easily. The cliffside location is superb, and the walk down to Buoy Haus and the beach is easy. It’s ten minutes from the airport, and I’ll be back.
