Mr Dong sorted out bus tickets for us that same day, very efficiently. The room was spotless and comfortable, and the food was good. It’s on a quiet street near the center, about 10 minutes from the market.

We stopped for one night on a motorbike trip through northern Vietnam. The meals were lovely, and there was more than we could manage. The facilities were basic but clean, with plenty of space.

We ate lunch at this restaurant, and later that afternoon and evening two of the four people in our group started vomiting. Lunch was the only meal we’d had that day, so we’re certain the restaurant caused it. We suspect the vegetables, since only the people who ate them became ill. We’d traveled around Vietnam for three weeks without problems before eating here, which made this especially disappointing. The place looked nice and geared toward tourists, and it was quite overpriced compared with local options. We assumed the higher prices and tourist focus meant better hygiene, but that wasn’t our experience. I’m warning others about the risk of food poisoning and would stay away for health and safety.

I’ve stayed here several times and enjoyed every visit. The bungalows are clean and new, and the food is great. Dong is a good host who makes sure you’re well looked after.
