The glamping setup is a great idea, and I liked the tea bath and pleasant outdoor space. But the cleaning and pest control need work. There were lots of insects in the rooms, visible spider webs, and bothersome flies in the restaurant. I’ve stayed twice, and it seemed to be in worse condition this time, so maintenance needs to be more consistent.

We were there with the whole family from August 31st to September 2nd, and had a really pleasant, memorable stay at Olala Glamping. Our tent was clean, cozy, and comfortable, with a lovely view over Butterfly Lake. The food was tasty with a good range of choices, and the owner kindly gave us a free ride to a nearby animal farm. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout, always paying attention to what we needed. Definitely somewhere we’d be happy to visit again.

We came as a big group and stayed in the large family room for 8. It worked really well for us, with four bunk beds for eight people, two toilets, two showers, and a shared family area. Rooms that large are unusual at a glamping place. At 3.6mil VND for 8, it can also work for a budget trip, though dinner costs extra or you’ll need to eat elsewhere. There are also two person rooms and a two bedroom villa for four. The villa looks lovely, with Japanese style decor, and seems like a luxurious option for a family. The restaurant was a highlight. We ordered steamed chicken and chicken hotpot (lẩu gà lá é), both great, and the regular menu was already very good. We didn’t try the BBQ. Lunch and dinner are worth trying, and the prices seemed reasonable. Breakfast, though, is very basic, with instant coffee and a simple hot meal. You can order from the menu instead. This is a nice place to get out of the city, enjoy the fresh air and cool weather, and relax for a night or two. There isn’t a lot to do on site, so two days is plenty for a quiet, laid back stay. You can go to nearby places for activities or farm visits, and the city centre is only 12km away. There’s a hill nearby for a morning visit. The playground is fun for two or three hours at most. They have a sauna and tea bath, but both turned out to be pretty basic, and you need to bring your own swimsuit. There’s no SUP board yet, so you can’t explore the lake. The tents have aircon, which keeps the temperature nice and probably helps with airflow. They’re made of plastic, though, and on a sunny day they have that plastic smell you get when you first get into a hot car. If you’re used to camping, it’s probably fine, and the aircon helps. Outside the tent there’s a bathtub and BBQ area, which makes for a nice glamping setup. You can expect bugs and ants at a glamping site, but we had no problems with them, and the restaurant uses lots of mosquito repellent incense. The swing has been covered because of the durian tree. I do wonder about having durian trees near the swing area, since it looks pretty dangerous.

The place was okay, but a lot of things still need repairs. There’s a swing under a durian tree, and if you miss the warning sign on the tree, you could get hurt sitting on it. I don’t understand why it’s set up that way. They warn people to stay 3m away and have three swings hanging there. I’m not sure a child would understand the warning. There isn’t much to do besides enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. If you’re hoping for more fun, this probably isn’t the place. Also, there were cockroaches in my room and in my friends’ room, plus other insects. One bit me and left a red mark, but it wasn’t serious. There was water on the floor outside the room too. I don’t know if it came from the toilet, but it felt a bit uncomfortable.

We had a nice stay here, and the spa treatment was included.
