We chose this newer place after considering the DoiDep (Sandals) hotel chain, partly because of its good reviews. Our first impression on arrival around 2:30 pm wasn't great: there was no bellhop for our luggage, and the restaurant was closed. The room was okay, with typical MDF wood decor, but several drawers didn't work and the soundproofing was terrible. We heard music from outside the hotel grounds, plus people talking, knocking, and walking in rooms beside and above us. The view from the room was great. Breakfast was basic, with about eight items to choose from rather than a buffet. Some dishes, like the chicken mushroom sautéed, could take 20-25 minutes. My spaghetti was below average, they got my drink order wrong, and I heard staff blaming each other. When we checked out, I realized the cleaners might have accidentally thrown away my shoe bag, a half-nylon, half-fabric bag with a shoe logo printed on it. Reception said they'd checked with the cleaners and nobody had seen it, but offered no solution until I went down and asked for plastic bags for my shoes. There was still no help from staff loading our luggage when we left. The view was lovely, but the hospitality felt lacking.

I booked three nights, from 1 Sep to 4 Sep. The holiday officially ended on 3 Sep, but I was still charged the holiday rate of 1m2 vnd for the night of 3 Sep. There was a basic breakfast on 2 Sep, then à la carte breakfasts on the other two days. The food was average, nothing special, and they couldn't serve breakfast in my room when I asked. The motorcycle rental was poor too. The old man asked for more money than he'd promised at the start, apparently for petrol. The shampoo smelled like dishwashing liquid, the usual lemon scent from Sunlight. I don't recommend it.

We had a quiet weekend stay, probably because it was off season, and the rooms were half price on promotion, so it was great value. The new hotel is in a good spot in the town center but far enough from the main road that there was little traffic noise. The reception building has great architecture, and our top-floor room was modern, clean, and had a nice mountain view. Staff were attentive and understood basic English. I'd recommend it.
