KP Hotel

Room 201 was clean, lovely, and quiet for our one night, and the AC worked perfectly. It’s in a great location. The shower enclosure had gaps that let water leak into the bathroom, though shampoo and body wash were supplied. Breakfast had no Western options, and the dining room had no AC.

The green rooftop garden was my favorite spot, a lovely place to unwind. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the buffet breakfast was tasty and balanced. We used to have great stays here and had even recommended the hotel to relatives and friends. This time was a big disappointment. We arrived late at night as a family of four and found a dirty room, visible mould in the bathroom, and water problems. The toilet wouldn’t flush, and the shower only dripped, so we couldn’t use it. When we told the staff, they first refused a refund. We had to check out and find another hotel at midnight with two exhausted kids who had fallen asleep after travelling. We eventually got the refund, but the service and overall quality have clearly gone downhill.

There’s a romantic feel to the rooms, which looked modern and were clean, with comfortable beds. The hotel is great value, with breakfast included. It isn’t the huge spread you’d get at a five-star place, but there was enough, and really, what more do you need than eggs and bread with butter and jam? Staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be. The location is superb, surrounded by all sorts of restaurants and just a short walk from the night markets and Hau River.
