Nam Home

There was no reception, and nobody answered my emails or messages, even through platforms like Agoda. The hostel was dirty. My bed was covered in hair and stains, and the pillow had clearly been used by someone else.

At 5 a.m., a man in another bed touched my foot and seemed to be looking for attention because he had a morning erection. It was deeply disturbing, and I couldn’t sleep again, so I packed up and left. When he saw me getting ready to go, he kept checking whether I would come to his bed. Something seemed wrong with him. I started swearing loudly, which woke a female guest. She said this sort of thing was normal there and that these individuals had bothered her before, but left her alone after realizing she was a woman. I’d heard of similar problems on sleeper buses in Vietnam, but didn’t expect this in a hostel. Management needs to take stronger steps to protect ordinary guests’ safety and comfort. I can’t recommend staying here until that happens. What a place.

It was okay.

A good place to stay if you’re a student or just trying to save on accommodation.
