Guava Hill Boutique Hotel

The hotel looks nice from the outside, but that was about it. The rooms were dirty and dusty, the bathrooms were nasty, and the toilet flush buttons didn’t work. Shower handles fell off and water kept leaking. There was no AC, and gaps in our main door let light in and hallway noise through. The beds were as hard as the uneven floors. We bought a soda, but the fridge smelled atrocious. They only provide one key card, and the staff didn’t seem friendly. The one man doing all the work, helping guests with luggage and room service, deserves a raise. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The online booking listing misrepresented the hotel’s condition and cleanliness. It was dusty and dirty, and I couldn’t even manage a day there. We couldn’t wait to leave. At least they understood and showed us the gold room first. Other newer boutique hotels that are bright and clean would be a better choice. It was a long walk to get a meal or sundries. Breakfast was hearty, but that was about it. The place felt eerie. Enjoy that eerie experience if you want to!

Of all the hotels my mother and I stayed in during our trip, this was our favorite. It’s a wonderful, generally underrated hotel. With a little more soul from the owners, it could easily be a hotel one star higher.

The location is handy for a short stay, not far from Xuan Huong lake(the city's downtown), and the room looks decent with a nice vibe. The floor was mopped properly, but the other areas were fine too. The equipment is dated, though, and the ceiling ventilation fan occasionally drips water. The staff are helpful, but their expressions and attitude didn’t feel welcoming, and they kept communication to a minimum. It’s okay for the price. For a longer stay, I’d look elsewhere.
