Nice place!

When we got to the homestay, it appeared to be shut down: the rooms were locked, there was no lighting or electricity, and nobody answered the hotline, which disconnected as soon as we called. The Agoda listing had offered a very low price. We messaged the page and were told to use self-check-in, but there were no keys or instructions, and the place didn’t seem somewhere anyone could stay. If this isn’t operating as a legitimate business, it should close instead of taking people’s money unfairly. Doesn’t anyone worry about bad karma? SCAM. We also found the homestay closed when we arrived, despite booking at a cheap Agoda price. With no power, locked rooms, and no way to check in, calling and messaging didn’t resolve anything.

I stayed for two nights, and the owner was really enthusiastic about helping me. The home has two renovated rooms that are worth the price, and there’s a super delicious beef hot pot restaurant right in front of the owner’s place, very chill. The Butter Hut is empty at the moment. The location in the photos you took is another homestay, owned by a very cute owner. Please support her.

I booked and paid in advance for several nights, but left as soon as I arrived and didn’t stay because the conditions were so bad. The rooms had mold and were deteriorating, and the building seemed deserted and insecure. There was no gate or lockable door where reception used to be. The room doors had only code locks, so someone who knew the code could enter. The bathroom water had also been cut off. The manager I’d emailed said he’d try to restore it and that I should shower at another establishment. I don’t know whether this homestay is still operating, but this was my worst experience so far. I asked the owner to refund me and was told there was nothing he could do, and that I’d have to wait until the following month. I filed a claim with Agoda, and they refunded me.
