Flora Villa

The home-cooked Vietnamese food was a real highlight. The host made traditional dishes, and I enjoyed having local food without needing to leave the hotel. I also found the place spotless, from my immaculate room to the tidy common areas. Flora Home is right in central Dalat, so local markets, restaurants, popular sights, and the city’s streets were all easy to reach. The host welcomed me warmly, paid attention to what I needed, and shared useful recommendations and insights about Dalat’s culture. It felt like being part of a family, and the central location, hospitality, cleanliness, and meals made my visit memorable. I’d recommend Flora Home if you’re after a cozy stay with a personal touch.

The WiFi was among the best we had in South East Asia, and renting a motorbike was easy. We were able to change the rental to one day less without any trouble. Steve wasn’t at Flora Home during our 8-night stay, but he was reachable on WhatsApp and helped arrange a lot of places for the next part of our trip, which we really appreciated. When we said we didn’t want plastic bottles, he arranged a 20l recyclable bottle. We chose the family room for its space and nice bath, but it got really warm. We asked for two fans and only received one because they had no more. They should invest in Aircon, or at least have extra fans. Since Steve was away, meals weren’t being offered, and we weren’t allowed to use the kitchen. That was a big disappointment, as the kitchen was one reason we booked here over another place. A lack of maintenance led to our room flooding. We were there when it happened, so our things didn’t get wet. Staff cleaned the room but didn’t offer anything for the inconvenience. The neighborhood was fine, though there weren’t many places to eat nearby, so you have to drive a few km for better options.

Ask for a room away from the street, since mornings can get noisy. Steven was a super friendly host with good tips on what to see and do around Da Lat. The hotel is a little outside town, but Grab gets you around in a couple of minutes, or you can rent a scooter.

The homestay is handy for reaching the city center, and there’s parking right out front. The staff were friendly and helpful. I tried two room types, both with lovely panoramic views. The villa-style place was clean and attractive, with spacious rooms and prices starting at 300k VND. Definitely worth staying at.
