Spider Hostel

The worst part was the laundry. I handed it over and got other people’s clothes back, while two of my expensive pairs of pants were lost. They didn’t accept responsibility or refund me, and suggested I was confused and lying. The stay brought anger and confusion that the price wasn’t worth. The address on the booking wasn’t accurate, leaving us far from the lake and center. The room and bathroom were very cramped, with almost no space for belongings. There were spiders and webs throughout the hostel, and the sheets and towels were dirty and marked. Communication was only through a translation app, which made the language barrier difficult.

Honestly, the hotel was just okay, nothing especially good.

The views from Spider Hostel were a highlight for me: you can see Langbiang Mountain and Da Lat spreading out below. The place also has billiards, free karaoke, and space to cook, so there’s more to do than just sleep there. The hosts are friendly and professional, and the rooms are clean. It’s on Bui Thi Xuan Street, down the alley beside Nguyen Trai Primary School, with plenty of lively, affordable places to eat and spend time nearby. They’re building up the guesthouse, restaurant, and hotel side of the brand, with a range of distinctive rooms at competitive prices. Some rooms have romantic love seats and cute decorations for couples. There’s also Nam Dinh Snacks, which serves tasty, good-quality food. Rates are 159k-250k on weekdays and 259k-359k in summer, with slight changes possible on holidays. You can rent newer, well-kept motorbikes at the hostel too. #Spider_Hostel

I gave it 4 stars mainly because the rice paper snacks were so good, especially the mixed rice paper and the different snacks. The attic room had glass over about 40% of it, which let in sunlight but also made the room a little cold. Rain came through the roof 😅, though the owner responded enthusiastically and lowered the price right away. It’s affordable, has a fairly well-equipped room, and is right in the center, a short walk from Xuan Huong Lake. The view out front is mostly other houses, but the lights at night made it feel romantic 😂. You can see the mountain in the distance under the clouds. If you’re traveling with a group and trying to save money, it’s a decent option 👍.
