The shared area was pleasant to work in, but the rest of the place felt run down and in need of repairs. Our mattress was very hard, and noise carried throughout. People barbecued in the garden until 1am, then there was yelling and music, including piano, in the common area at 7am. Management didn't enforce quiet hours. The wardrobe smelled of mould and was mouldy, so we couldn't use it.
Room 6 was the best one we saw: tucked on a corner at the back, it looks out onto the garden and has beautiful views. When the frequent storms rolled in, the dry, covered patio was a great place to watch them. We also liked the upstairs lounge and the long shared table downstairs, where we could spend time outside our suite. Up on a hill, the homestay felt sheltered from downtown noise, though it was only a quick moped ride into town. Evening walks nearby were nice, and there's a decent cafe close by with panoramic views. The family meals we were invited to on two occasions were incredible, and breakfast brought a perfect omelette and baguette each morning. The homestay, its location, cleanliness, hospitality, and food made our stay in Dalat memorable, dalatfull puns and all.
The rooms were clean, and there was a comfortable shared lounge. They also had motorbikes available to rent. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming.
The flowers here are out of this world. Tia Du Homestay is a real gem, with a beautiful setting and a very kind owner. The staff are sooo helpful!
