Gold Stone Homestay Hoi An

We had a great stay with the host and her family, who were so kind and helpful. She even arranged an inexpensive transfer from Hoi An to Nha Trang. They'd often ask if we wanted a drink or some food, and our room was cleaned every day. The shower always had hot water, too. This has been our best stay in Vietnam so far, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Really friendly staff and a great place. I'd have stayed longer, but there wasn't another room available. The scooter I rented through them was the one problem: none of the instruments worked, so I couldn't see the speed or fuel level.

After a long flight, all I wanted was to rest in my room, shower, and go for a walk while it was still early. The family living there kept talking and laughing loudly, the children cried and laughed, and the women shouted. I counted four adults and three children. It was constant noise, and I couldn't rest at all. They seemed to carry on with their usual family life without considering that guests might need quiet. I gave up on the nap and went to shower, but the water wasn't hot. I called the girl at reception. She came up, tested it with her hand, and said it was hot, but it was barely lukewarm. The weather was a bit cold, and with my very tough beard I needed properly hot water to shave without cutting my face. I asked if she could turn up the heater. She told me to wait, but after almost 40 minutes she still hadn't returned. At reception they said the water was fixed, which wasn't true. I picked up my bags and moved to another hotel.

I stayed here with my mom and we were upgraded to a nice room. The host was so sweet and helped us arrange a day tour to Bana hills, which turned out amazing. She also set up an early morning cab to the airport. The place is next to the night market and the hoi an boating. We loved our stay.
