Angel Hotel Danang

After booking five months ahead, I arrived on the day of my stay to find there were no rooms available. Check-in was delayed by about four hours, then they put me in a downgraded room without telling me. I got no refund. I also saw cockroaches several times, and the room had a musty smell. Avoid this place if you're on a fun trip.

The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from Dragon Bridge, near a very good, inexpensive food market that opens at 6. Inside, it's cute, the room was clean and nice, and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. The staff were friendly and helpful, and their airport shuttle cost us only $8. They also booked Ba Na Hills for us, which I'd recommend too. Big thumbs up!

The room smelled bad, and the corridor by the room deck was hot and dusty. Walking through it felt like being in a construction site. The main door sensor was broken, so it could only be opened from inside. With just one staff member for the whole hotel, if she went out or to the toilet, you'd be stuck outside. Such a waste of people's time. Don't count on the good reviews.

We'd stay here again. The staff were extremely friendly and kept asking if we needed anything, and there are at least three mini markets and lots of restaurants next door. Renting a scooter was easy, at 150.000 dong for a day. At €13 a night, I thought the value was unbeatable. Breakfast was included, with lots of different food and something new each day. For European or American tastes there was toast, white bread rolls, jam, peanut butter, butter, eggs cooked in a pan, tomatoes and cucumber. Drinks included coffee, fresh milk, water, juice and cola from syrup, without gas. The room was clean compared with other hotels we've stayed at in this price range, the towels were changed daily, and the WiFi was fast and worked very well.
