The rooms were excellent, and I have no complaints about them or the beach and pools. Food was the only issue for us in Vietnam. We’re from Malaysia and are used to good, varied cuisine. Korean and Chinese travelers who like pork and blander food might enjoy the options, but they weren’t for us. We came during Chinese New Year, which was completely the wrong time. We did search online, but the information was all wrong. Shops, banks, and even malls were closed from the eve for three to five days. We’ll never go to Vietnam again.

The breakfast was average and the menu a little limited. Our room was spacious, and the furniture was okay, not too old, still functional. Soundproofing could be better, especially in the morning when corridor noise came through. There were two bathrobes available if you wanted them, and the bathroom had a Japanese-style smart bidet flush with only one option. The price seemed reasonable compared with other four-star hotels, given that it isn’t right in the center but is still downtown, near Han River Port.

For the price of a four-star hotel, this was a nightmare business trip. The room was dusty enough to make me itchy within minutes, and the facilities were broken. Maybe they put me in the worst room, even though I booked almost a month ahead. Don’t tell me there was no choice. I asked the day before check-in to switch to a double bed instead of twins, but they refused, saying they were fully booked. When I complained at check-in, they said I’d have to stay in the dusty room no matter what and offered to send housekeeping to clean it. Hygiene should be taken care of before guests arrive, not after they complain, and cleaning wouldn’t fix the state of the facilities. If you can’t maintain quality, don’t sell the room. Totally not worth the money.

The room had a TV, internet, pool, bath, tea, coffee, water, and a safe for money. The air conditioner worked and towels and robes were changed, with daily room cleaning. Reception staff helped us buy tickets online. But the air conditioner blew hard, and it got hot without it. The toilet and bath smelled and were unpleasant to look at. The iron we asked for was broken, and when we requested a knife twice in the evening, they wouldn’t provide one. The restaurant ran from 6:30 to 10:00, which felt too early. Breakfast was the same every day, with poor fruit choices even though the country has lots of fruit. We ended up eating eggs all the time. The food didn’t suit a Kazakh traveler, although most guests seemed to be Kazakh. Juice was the same two types each day, the tea wasn’t tasty, and you had to wait in line for an omelet. Hotel staff were loud in the mornings.

Hot spa and bath, 5/5. Japanese-style hotel, good location, good service.
