Iris Hotel Danang

I picked this hotel because we needed somewhere to rest and shower before our overnight train to Hanoi. It was reasonably priced and did the job. The location was good, the room was large and mostly clean, and the shower had strong pressure. But the hot water ran out in under 5 minutes, the bed linens smelled, and water still leaked onto the floor even with the glass shower door closed. Shampoo and shower gel came in single-use packets. The hotel feels old and has an old smell, though the staff were friendly and spoke good English.

Close to both the airport and train station, so this would work well for a one-night stop. The front desk staff were professional, and the service was good. The rooms were just OK, though: there was a rotten, damp smell and dust, and the cleaners seemed to sweep only around the beds and chairs. The place needs a serious spring clean. Breakfast was average. The sausages tasted like canned brine sausages, and the eggs were extremely runny and seemed barely cooked.

The location and breakfast were good, and the rooms were spacious. The power sockets were awkwardly placed, and the bathroom was dim with an odd smell. Staff were friendly, though they weren’t flexible enough.

I was here for 3 nights and ordered breakfast with my room. The food tasted good, and the people were nice and helpful, though they didn’t really speak English. I’d come back if I return to Da Nang.
