Misa Hotel Da Nang

I only booked this place at the last minute because the Da Nang marathon was in town. That was my mistake. I wanted to give it one star, but the person who checked me in was very nice. Still, the place was gross, and five stars is inconceivable. The shower was so nasty I skipped using it, and the sheets were stained. I killed a cockroach in the room. The towel I used after shaving smelled musty, as if it hadn’t dried properly or seen bleach. The room itself smelled damp and moldy. I could sleep, but only after moving to the bed by the window and opening it for fresh air. There was food on the chair that hadn’t been cleaned, and something like food on the drapes too. The slippers by the door looked like they should have been replaced about a thousand guests ago. Even the picture above the beds looked neglected, though that’s a very nitpicky detail and mostly says something about how little care seems to go into the place. The elevator looked as if it hadn’t had a mop or its walls cleaned since 2020. Pistachio shells stayed there throughout my entire visit. And on Sunday during the day, one staff member sat by the lobby counter cutting her toenails while talking to another staff member, as if that were normal. Barf.

The beds were awful. Sitting down made a loud thud, and lying on the mattress felt so uncomfortable that I kept moving and couldn’t sleep. The bathroom was dirty and falling apart, with mold and patchy paint all over the walls. Service was appalling. The woman at the desk was rude and seemed unable to do her job. They tried to charge us for the most expensive, 16-seat minivan to Hue, saying there were no smaller ones. But when it arrived, it had only 9 seats. We questioned the charge and asked for the 9-seat price, and she insisted it could fit 16 people despite having just 9 seats. Overall, this place and the people are useless. Stay here if you want a mattress as hard as a door, service like talking to a brick wall, and piercing noise at 6 a.m.

All the shouting in the hallway every night makes it impossible to sleep or relax. If you’re hoping for peace and quiet, this really isn’t the place. After dealing with that, whatever’s going on in the street barely bothers you.

The room was small and stank, and the reception area was hot. There’s no soundproofing. Worst experience in Da Nang. Don’t trust the photos on the travel app.
