For what it costs, it was fine. The receptionists were helpful and always answered on Whatsapp, which made it a good option for arriving late. We stayed over New Year, and the staff took extra care of us. A couple of things to know: our building had no elevator, though the doorman can help with the language. That’s worth keeping in mind if stairs are difficult for you. The hotel is 2.5 km from the center, so a bike is handy, but they only have 9 and you may not get one.

We first booked Nature Resort Hoi An for six days, then loved it enough to add another six. After 12 days, it really felt like a home away from home. The resort is in a quiet neighborhood, around 3 km from the Ancient Town and 4 km from An Bang Beach. There’s a lake and park nearby, so it’s peaceful and away from the tourist bustle. Free bicycles made it easy for us to get to town and the beach, and they gave us complimentary water every day. We’d booked a Standard room, but the staff kindly upgraded us for the full stay. The cleaning team also did a very thorough job and kept our room spotless. Breakfast was included and had lots of choices each morning, including an omelet station where they made eggs to order. We didn’t try the makeshift swimming pool, but it was nice to have it included. At about $13 USD a day, with breakfast for two, the value was hard to beat. We found comfort and kindness here and would gladly recommend it.

Even traveling on my own, I had a great time and never felt bored. The hotel was quiet, beautiful, and a good deal, and both the rooms and service were better than I expected. The attractions are a little far away, though easy enough to reach. Breakfast didn’t have much variety, but it worked for me. The Wi-Fi could use a bit of improvement 😁

The breakfast was excellent, and the Old Town is about 3 from here, manageable by bike. The room was okay for a night or two, though the mattress could be better and some areas hadn’t been dusted properly.

The rooms and bathrooms look nice, but the hot water only lasts about a minute. We were also woken at 8am on the first morning by room service knocking. We’d arrived on a night bus and were exhausted, and after just one night we didn’t need service that early. It was kind of them to offer, but the timing was far too early. We stayed in the room until about 1pm the next day, so we assumed housekeeping wasn’t coming and left our things as they were. I remember leaving my Prada sunglasses on the floor, on top of my bag. When we came back, they were gone. I can only assume they were accidentally broken and taken to cover it up. The hotel denied it, but I’m completely sure I left them there. The hotel lends bikes to guests, which is nice, but when we asked for a lock, they said we didn’t need one. Our bike was eventually stolen. On our last morning they woke us and demanded payment, asking for our passports so they could “find the bike” and return them afterward. We refused. Luckily, the place where the bike was stolen found it and had offered beforehand to pay for it, which got them off our backs. We were glad to leave. The pool wasn’t great either, which is a shame because the staff seemed nice. The location is okay if you cycle, about 10 minutes from the old town, but there are almost no shops nearby. Without a bike or scooter, you’ll need a taxi everywhere.
