Ocean Bungalow Homestay

The room was okay, though very old. They had “tea cups” but no boiler to make tea. The woman there spoke Vietnamese only and wasn’t very friendly. Several buildings on the little street leading to the place were under construction, so it wasn’t very nice to look at.

We left after the first night because the infestation in the room and roof was unbearable. We’d booked through Airbnb, and the host wasn’t understanding, so we had to seek a refund through Airbnb. That process was a nightmare. Calling this place the Ocean SHACK would fit better. The roof was patched together and full of holes, with lizards and cockroaches falling through. The sounds of creatures in the “roof” were incredibly loud and irritating. The doors also had huge gaps even when shut. Don’t trust the reviews or photos. For the same price or less, you can find somewhere much better closer to or in Old Town Hoi An, which is a much better area.

The location is great, but it’s overpriced and moldy. There are much better, cheaper places in the area.

Cockroaches on the bed, termites in the headboard, holes in the roof, and exposed electrical connections in the bathroom. The place doesn’t deserve a star and should be shut down for hygiene and safety. Airbnb has it well noted, but it was still an absolute scam.
