Sen Boutique Hotel

The room was clean and roomy enough, with a fridge, cupboard, and boiler, though I couldn’t find a desk for using my laptop. Maybe the premium rooms have one, but I had the cheapest option. They supplied towels and basic toiletries, including a toothbrush and comb, but no soap, which seemed odd. The shower was enclosed, had hot water and good pressure, so it didn’t soak the bathroom floor. WiFi was fine, staff were nice, and breakfast was fine too. There’s also a nice library for guests. The location is great, 100 meters from the beach, near plenty of restaurants and cafes, my favourite being Paris Levain. Lucia Gym, a nice air-conditioned gym, is right opposite.

When we arrived, we learned that one of our two reservations had been canceled because the penthouse suit was out of service. They offered two separate rooms, but our family wanted to stay together, so we asked to cancel and get a full refund. The front desk checked with the manager, confirmed it was approved, and repeatedly assured me Expedia would send a cancellation email within a few days. A week went by with no email. After I returned to the U.S., I contacted the hotel again but got no answer. Expedia also tried to reach them and heard nothing. The room problem wasn’t their fault, but staff blatantly lied about the refund process. More than a month later, nothing has been done. It was a terrible experience.

We booked the penthouse suite for two nights but didn’t stay even one. With just one bathroom for five people, it was already inconvenient. Then we found ants and bed bugs under the mattresses and booked another hotel instead. The furniture was quite outdated. The staff were very nice, though, and tried to help as much as they could.

I’ve been here for about 2.5 months and love both my room and the location.
