The 1993 Homestay

The hosts made a month-long stay feel like home. They were attentive and helped me with all sorts of things, and that hospitality went a long way. I slept wonderfully on what was the most comfortable bed of my Asia travels. The room was spacious and full of daylight, and the place was close enough to attractions for a quick, inexpensive Grab ride while still being quiet at night. Free bikes and guest umbrellas were available too. The whole property was spotless, cleaner than several more expensive boutique hotels I’ve stayed in. I also appreciated the care in the decor and the fragrant incense on the beautiful altar each evening. There are a few drawbacks for longer stays: no elevator, and the king room has no desk or table. The shower is open to the toilet area, so despite lots of squeegeeing I couldn’t get the floor around the toilet fully dry. Still, I’d absolutely stay again.

The room was large, very clean, and service was great. It’s a peaceful spot away from the busy areas, but still close enough to walk into the old town. A great base for visiting hoi an.

The staff were kind and eager to help, and the homestay is clean, quiet, and fairly close to the centre. We also had access to free bikes, Vietnamese hats, water, and a small but very clean pool. The bathroom is spacious. The toiletries could be better, though: there was no conditioner, the shampoo left my hair very dry, and the toothbrush was too hard.

Our family of four had a really pleasant visit. The room was bright and comfortable, with two separate bathrooms, and the affordable price turned out to be better than we expected. It was a calm place to sleep, around a 15-minute walk from the Hoian Old town. There’s also a new gym nearby that costs only 30.000vnd, which we thought was great. I’d recommend staying here.
