The Light House Da Nang

I stayed for three nights last January and was surprised by how close it was to the beach. It's right across from Bikini Bottom Express, which many people recommend in Da Nang. The staff were welcoming and kind, and the service was great. There was no hair dryer in the dorm, and there were mosquitoes. Apart from that, I had a good stay. It's not a social hostel, and everyone kept to themselves, which I liked. I'm already planning another trip to Vietnam and will definitely come back.

I had a wonderful time here, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The hostel is very close to the beach, so I went to enjoy the sunrise and sunset every day. You can get hot or cold water at reception, and they offer day trips by shuttle bus or bike. The day before checkout, I found that another guest had taken all the less valuable things I'd left in my locker, toiletries, shoes, and packing materials, put their own things inside, and locked it. I hadn't secured my locker. I was leaving the next day and was ultimately fine, but taking my belongings without permission was inappropriate.

The directions for food and sights were really helpful, and the staff made my early arrival easy by getting my room ready on time. They’re lovely, and so are the puppers. I felt sure from the moment I walked in that I’d picked a good place, and it didn’t disappoint. Solo travelers coming to Da Nang for the first time, this is a good option.

We were told to find another hostel when we asked for clean sheets or a room clean. The staff said they had no spare bedsheets. We’d booked a 6-bed dorm, and it had large bed bugs. All of us ended up with several red, itchy bites. As of 18 March 2026, the problem still hadn’t been fixed. Not having basic spare sheets is unacceptable, and this place clearly doesn’t care about hygiene or its guests. Avoid it.
