The location is nice, and rooms are very cheap. Getting here from the station cost 50.000 VND by taxi, and the drivers knew where to go. Our beds were quite hard but manageable. The room itself felt worn, with a very old-looking shower that was moldy and damp. The sink dripped into the shower drain, so that wasn't a big issue. There was a mothball smell, though nothing really awful. Other rooms in our group looked better. The staff were very nice and tried to help, but spoke almost no English. WiFi was great. Laundry was 20.000 for one shirt, which is crazy expensive. The elevator was out, so we walked up four flights of stairs each time. We could manage, but it might be too much for older guests. Fine for a short stay.

The dorm bed was a great price, and the staff made my time in Dong Hoi. They were very helpful, took time to teach me some useful Vietnamese phrases, and shared tour recommendations. I don't usually leave reviews, but the staff really made the difference. Great price and great people.

For 12 dollars, this really wasn't worth it and felt like a tourist trap. The "mat" was actually a towel, and it was dirty with hair on it. The bottom sheet was stained, and there wasn't another sheet to cover ourselves. The bathroom had a really strong damp smell, and the walls showed damage from humidity, even though we were told this was the "new" room. Breakfast wasn't included at that price. The shower pressure was good, and the air con worked.

The rooms weren't clean and felt old, like they needed renovation. We were on the fifth floor with no elevator. Breakfast wasn't available, and reception spoke only a tiny bit of English.

We arrived at 4 AM without a reservation, and they were kind enough to check us in. I stayed just one night. The rooms were okay and the people were nice, though they practically didn't speak English.
