Nam Long Hotel

There's a 24/7 minimart right next door, and the place is close to the activity center and just a short walk from Main Street with all the shops, the bridge street. For the price, it was okay, about what I expected. There's no lift. The hosts were kind and helped with my questions, though I'm not sure I'd call them great hosts. They don't know English, so we used Google Translate. We didn't order breakfast, so I can't comment on it. The rooms were big, but one bed had dirty sheets. The AC pipe drained into the bathroom, but because of poor planning it didn't lead straight into the vent, so the whole floor got covered in water whenever the AC was on. Sometimes there was no hot water.

The bed was especially comfortable and we slept well. It's a clean place with plenty of amenities, and close to the dining area. Highly recommend it.

I meant to stay one night in Doing Hoi, but bad weather changed my plans. I'm a cyclist, and ended up enjoying the hotel and town enough to stay for a week. It's a budget place, kept immaculately clean, with good quality linen and towels. Rooms have water and toiletries, plus a TV, fridge, and kettle. They cleaned my room when I asked. I got lucky with room 301, one of the cheaper rooms with a balcony. The other rooms are also a good size and have the same facilities. The manager at the sister hotel had useful information and arranged a bus to Hue that could take my bike. They can also arrange tours and motorbikes. NOTE: The first Photo above is not this hotel but the newer sister hotel. Dong Hoi is a great town, with virtually no tourists. I soon got into the coffee, food, and shopping for beer and ice cream. I definitely recommend this place.

The family who runs Nam Long were lovely and helpful, sharing ideas for things to see and do in the national park. We also rented a scooter from the hotel, and it was in excellent condition. Their other hotel just around the corner serves a delicious breakfast, including tasty omelettes, pancakes, and coffee. Our room was comfortable and very nice, up on the top floor with a beautiful balcony full of flowers and a view of the city. The location right by the beach is excellent. Facilities were great too: air conditioning, a fan, fridge, kettle, toiletries, and everything else we needed. The bed was very comfortable, with soft, fluffy pillows. Really recommend it, there's nothing I can say that isn't positive. ❤️
