Regal Collection House

We booked the Regal Suite, but were put in a shared apartment instead. Nobody was using the second bedroom, thankfully, but we hadn’t booked a shared place and weren’t told about the change or offered a discount. It didn’t feel like a suite at all. Then at around 2:30am, my boyfriend switched on the light and spotted a cockroach. He killed it, but about ten minutes later saw another one on the floor and woke me up. When we lifted our backpack and clothes, we found three more crawling around our things. That was five cockroaches in all. Disgusting. We went straight to reception. A staff member came to look and said he had only seen one, the one we’d killed. He asked if we could sleep in the other bedroom next door, still in the same shared apartment. I tried to explain that cockroaches come out in the dark and that we’d already killed five. He didn’t speak much English, and we weren’t offered another room, just that other bedroom in the infested unit. I asked for a full refund of 2,700,000 VND and got only 500,000 VND. At 3am we were exhausted and frustrated, so we accepted it and left, hoping to salvage the night. A cockroach infestation is a serious cleanliness problem and shouldn’t be ignored. We had to get back on our bike in the middle of the night and look for another hotel. Luckily, we found the Gold Coast Hotel down the road. They welcomed us warmly, and we finally got a clean, comfortable night’s sleep. We lost money and sleep, and this wasn’t the room we paid for. The place was unclean, and the way they handled it was unacceptable. If this review stops even one person from booking here, I’ll feel a little better. Avoid this hotel.
