After 12 days here, it’s time for me to leave. I’ve had a great stay: the room was really nice, very clean, and had a great city view. There was plenty of good-quality food at breakfast. I also want to thank the hotel manager and two people who now feel like friends, receptionist Linh and Tien. Their English was good, and they helped me understand how life works in vietnam, suggested places to visit in Dong Hoi, and helped with lots more. Thanks to everyone at the Rex Hotel. Ciao.

A new, modern hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and very helpful, friendly staff. The front desk manager spoke very good English and was so kind and beautiful. If I were a few years younger, I’d ask her to marry me. We had a wonderful stay, and I highly recommend this place.

We arrived on a sleeper bus at 4.30am, barely rested, and didn’t have anywhere else to go. We thought we might at least leave our bags, but the hotel offered early check-in for a small fee, which we gratefully took. They also upgraded us to an amazing executive suite. It was huge, well stocked, and laid out nicely. Breakfast had a great selection, dinner tonight was very tasty, and the pool was refreshing. We had the pool all to ourselves.

The hotel and rooms are spacious and great. Breakfast had no vegetarian choices, even though we told the staff about our dietary restrictions several times, both when booking and at check-in. The staff also weren’t very attentive, and they overcharged us for bottled water.

8/10
The rooms are spacious and amazing, and the place is very clean. Food is terrific, and the staff are versatile and extremely helpful. Downstairs there’s a quiet, relaxed bar by reception, plus a pretty beer garden for sunny days. The gym on the 11th floor is pretty good. There’s also a modern new wellness centre there, though it was closed this month. It’ll be a great addition. Great value.
