Citadines Ha Long Homestay Apartment

The food is one of my favorite things here. There are three restaurants, including one on the rooftop, and the food and drinks are amazing. I come every day, and the prices are reasonable. The breakfast buffet was 220.000, which seems fair for the quality. The location is great, just a block from the beach. There’s a big construction project nearby for a large building, and it’ll take a long time. That can really affect the stay, especially if you have trouble sleeping. I sleep through noise, so it wasn’t an issue for me. There are about ten large construction projects going on around the city, so this is still one of the better experiences here for now, though another place might beat it later. The hotel has rooms for hotel guests, Agoda and Airbnb bookings, and people who live here long term. Some facilities are separate, which feels a little awkward. For example, there are two gyms, one for hotel guests and one for the other app guests and residents. The bikes outside are only for hotel guests too.

There’s plenty of building work going on, so it’s a bit dusty at the moment. The room is fairly clean, fully equipped, and has a nice view and a very large balcony. The three bedrooms share just two bathrooms, which is a little inconvenient. One bedroom faces west and gets hot because the air conditioning isn’t very good.

Right after I booked through booking.com, I got a private message saying the apartment was occupied. They asked me to cancel and offered another apartment somewhere completely different, even though the original was still listed as available on booking.com. This is fraud.

We rented an apartment, perhaps because it was a cheaper choice, and they seemed to look down on us. While we were checking out with children and waiting in the heat and sun, staff told us we couldn’t wait in the lobby or even the waiting area and chased us out. Their manner was dismissive and awful. I’ll never return, and I wouldn’t recommend the place to anyone.
