The rooftop had great views, and we were lucky to have the sauna, steam room, pool and gym to ourselves. Everything there was very clean. The room's soundproofing was good too, so I barely heard the evening concert, despite what some reviews said. After our cruise, we stayed one night. The hotel felt elegant, with spotless decor, touch panel technology and a fragrant scent throughout. Staff were attentive, and the room was immaculate. Breakfast was fresh and neatly presented, with fruit including guava, apple, passion fruit, dragon fruit, watermelon and fruit salad, plus a choice of soups and juices. There wasn't much nearby besides the beach, cafes, and the bazaar, which opens at 6pm. I can see there are future plans for a Sun Plaza tourist attraction, and I think the hotel could get very popular as the town develops. One thing for the manager: there's a gap by the shower glass hinge, so water leaks out. Maybe a rubber seal flap could stop it. This felt like a 5* hotel, and I'd recommend it for a comfortable luxury stay. It was our best hotel so far while travelling from Hanoi and Sapa.

I popped in for an espresso, so I can't say much about the rooms. At first nobody knew what I meant, but they worked out it was the coffee from the machine in their cafe/bar and showed me there. After about ten minutes I asked where it was, and the barista said I had to order from him, so I did. A moment later I had a delicious espresso, served with extras I can't drink because of my lactose allergy, and a big smile. They took card payment too. Perfect! ☕️ It was 40 VND, which seemed fair.

Every night there's pounding techno from a beach party setup for Chinese tourists bus. It's a real shame because this hotel is lovely and quiet. There aren't any local shops around, so it's a 10 min walk to the local k.Mart, which is like 7/11 in Australia.

The location takes away a star for me. There's not much to do nearby, though it's fine for a night before heading to Ha Long bay. A nightclub blasts music until late every evening, even on weekdays. It's unfortunate, and not the hotel's fault, but I wanted to warn others. We really liked the hotel itself and its amenities. The pool was clean, and the gym, sauna and steam room were all included in the stay.
