Chillin' House

I keep choosing this hostel when I return to Cat Ba. The price is affordable, the rooms are clean, and I love how peaceful the pool area is. There’s also a nice bar with good music. It’s the greatest hostel I’ve ever stayed at.

For the price, this was an okay, quiet place, and the staff were friendly. Since it’s outside the city, it was helpful that they could arrange transport. The rooms were very simple, with no water, slippers, or fridge provided. We’d been told by the booking site we’d have pool view rooms, but that wasn’t what we got. Our room was on the third floor, up a spiral staircase that made getting suitcases up difficult. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable for us, though I guess that depends on what you like.

The hotel has a beautiful, calm and relaxing atmosphere. My friend and I had a wonderful time there, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, always ready to help with anything. I highly recommend staying here.

The food was very good, and the owners made us feel welcome. Chillin' House Cat Ba has a cozy, laid-back vibe and is a nice quiet place to stay. A couple of things could be better: the mattress felt too hard to me, and water leaked from the shower. I was there in Cat Ba during the off-season, so there weren’t many people around to socialize with. The hostel is about 2 km from the town center. Still, it has a nice atmosphere, especially in a busier season.
